What Sustainability Means to Us
Earth is the only planet in the Known universe that supports life the way that she does. Few, in any industry, care to protect her over the bottom line. The fashion industry has always been concerned with what's new and great with little to no regard for lasts seasons' trends that occupy miles of landfills. Pomona believes that environmental impact should be seen as a key part of the design process, instead of an obstacle in the way of maximizing profits. We aim to be the biggest brand with the smallest impact.
What We're Doing to Help
Our first decision when starting this brand was to commit to using plant based leathers for our handbags and accessories. After much research, we concluded that cactus leather from Desserto MX was the best fit for us. This durable and environmentally friendly material replicates the look and feel of high quality animal hide better than most anything else out there. Secondly, all of our products are handmade to order. We do not exploit cheap labor from underdeveloped countries, or further pollute beautiful land with overstocked product waste.
