Pomona was founded in Texas in 2021 to be a sustainable luxury handbag brand. I founded Pomona on the principal of leaving the Earth better off than how we found it. While in school studying Apparel Design and Manufacturing, I was made aware of just how much unnecessary waste, and pollutants are produced as a result of the fashion industry. Typical faux leathers are made from plastics such as PVC and PU, and along with being lower quality, are non-biodegradable unlike our plant based leather. After our products have reached the final stage in their lifecycle they will only spend a couple of decades as waste instead of centuries. This decision was not made lightly, and we hope to be a brand that helps push the fashion industry to a more sustainable future.
